ODYSSEY OF AION

From Patagonia to Antarctica

An extreme voyage to the edge of the living world.

In Patagonia, amid wind, cold, and swell. Then comes the Drake Passage, a shifting frontier between two worlds. Antarctica is not a new beginning — it is a continuation.

The Volunteer Team

A solo expedition is never an isolated adventure: beforehand, a team prepares, checks, and tests.

ARION — Built to Endure

A 14-metre aluminium sailboat designed for cold, solitude, and long-duration voyages. A 4×4 of the seas: robust, repairable, made for the real daily life of the South.

What Matters Down There

  • Strength & repairability: staying in control of time.
  • Redundant autonomy: holding on when everything closes in.
  • Heat, humidity, watchkeeping: surviving the daily grind.
  • Solo manoeuvres: maintaining control.

The Project in 30 Seconds

Three pillars. One thread: progress, observe, transmit — with sobriety, reliability, and evidence.

Navigation

Cautious progression, weather windows, shelters. Read, wait, seize the moment.

Science

Weather, ice, ocean, acoustics: measuring where passages are rare.

Imagery

Solo filming: long-term presence, without artifice.

The Documentary Film

The Odyssey of AION documentary captures a complete journey: from Patagonia through the Drake Passage to immersion in Antarctic ice. It highlights raw reality — weather windows, solitary decisions, slowness, and elemental forces — without artifice or staging. The narrative emerges from lived experience, in full coherence between sailor and vessel. Filming, onboard and disciplined, is adapted to safety and hostile conditions (cold, salt, shocks), with reliable backups. Imagery as an authentic trace of a rare expedition, where solitude, science, and observation merge. Planned distribution through festivals, screenings, and post-expedition media.
